About the Cakery

Jess and MichelleYum Bunnies... when I eat something and it's really good, no not just really good... fabulous, the best thing that I've ever had, I always say, "yum bunnies." My mom says she just made it up when I was a little girl so that I would try new foods. So now, when I am thinking of our cakes and how to describe then all I can say is Yum Bunnies...

Jessa Sahakian knew she wanted to be a cake decorator when she was in the sixth grade. She took a cake decorating class at the local party store and was the only kid in the class. She felt really out of place but also realized she was good at it. So the years went by and when it came time to choose a college she knew she would attend a culinary school. She toured Johnson & Wales University and that was it, she was hooked. She enrolled and graduated with honors, with a Bachelor's Degree in Baking and Pastry Arts. She did her Co-op and internship at The Icing On The Cake in Newton, MA. After graduation they asked her to stay. She started out as a base icer (someone who puts the cakes together) and then moved up to a decorator/designer position. After four years, she was ready to start her own Cakery so that she could share her designs and flavors. So, if you want a special cake for any occasion, it will be as important to Jessa as it is to you to make it perfect. She will work with each client to design a cake that will truly be Yum Bunnies!
